Recently, Cañizares played the Concierto de Aranjuez, by Rodrigo, in Lisbon, accompanied by the Gulbenkian Orchestra, conducted by Master Giancarlo Guerrero.
Master Guerrero has won numerous Grammies. Currently, he is conducting very prestigious orchestras worldwide.
Master Guerrero, as a master of percussion, and Cañizares, as a guitarist, understood each other from the start, and their version of the Concierto de Aranjuez was full of rhythm and dynamism.

Both concerts were sold out, and the Portuguese audiences expressed their gratitude with a long ovation. Before the end, Cañizares thanked this warm welcome by playing one of his flamenco pieces. Seeing how much the musicians on the stage enjoy flamenco is a fantastic experience.
